Abstract:

Provided is a precoating agent that is applicable to a non-absorbing recording medium formed of, for example, nylon (Ny), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polypropylene (PP, in particular OPP), can impart high durability to a coating film thus formed and an image formed thereafter regardless of the material of the recording medium, and ensures excellent image qualities of the thus formed image. The precoating agent, which is used to form an ink-receiving precoat layer for forming an image by an inkjet system, comprises water, a cationic resin having a polyurethane structure, an organic acid having two or more functional groups that are identical to each other, and a crosslinking agent capable of reacting with the functional groups.
