Abstract:
The present invention relates to a predictive quantization-based encoding method and a video compression system. The method comprises: dividing a pixel to be processed into a plurality of pixel components; obtaining a pixel component to be processed and a gradient along a grain direction thereof; obtaining a reference pixel and a predicted residual for said pixel component; forming a predicted residual stream; dividing the predicted residual stream into multiple quantification units; and obtaining a quantified residual stream. The present invention can reduce transmission bandwidth, theoretic limit entropy, and complexity.
