Abstract:
The present invention minimizes the wait time of users and equalizes the use of a plurality of printers when printing is carried out in a system to which a plurality of printers is connected. A print management device is connected to a terminal device and a printer by, e.g., a network or the like. The print management device saves print jobs transmitted from terminal devices and, when a print command from any of the printers is present, transmits the print job corresponding thereto to the printer to execute printing. The print management device collects and manages the print execution state of the printers. When a new print command is received from a printer already executing a print job, the wait time for each of a plurality of printers is calculated and notification of the printer with the shortest wait time is provided.
