Abstract:
　This printer is equipped with a first CPU, a second CPU which performs a different process to the first CPU, and an element to be monitored which outputs, to the first CPU and the second CPU, a signal indicating that a specific state has been entered. The first CPU and the second CPU are both constituted so as to be able to monitor the signals from the element to be monitored, and in a non-sleep state the second CPU performs monitoring of the element to be monitored, and in a sleep state the fist CPU monitors the element to be monitored.
