Abstract:

A printing system capable of accurately reflecting given color information and techniques related to the system, and a technique for easily maintaining data by the unified control of color information. The printing system (1) has a color information database (DB), and the color information has such items 'as color name', 'ink name', 'printing sequence', 'screen angle', 'process coloring instruction', 'false color' and 'ink type'. During printing, a color name specified as a color in a preset area within digital data to be printed is acquired, and color information corresponding to it is retrieved and extracted from color information stored in the color information database (DB). Rasterizing is then performed based on the extracted color information to complete printing. For confirmation outputting, a similar processing is performed using the centrally controlled color information database (DB).
