Abstract:
Disclosed is a printing system having a first feeding section and a second feeding section through both of which a sheet is introduced from a first direction, wherein the first feeding section and the second feeding section are located adjacent to each other. A direction switching section can switch the direction of traveling of the sheet from the first direction to the second direction. The printing system additionally has a first ejection section and a second ejection section through both of which the printed sheet is ejected in the second direction, wherein the first ejection section and the second ejection section are located in adjacent to each other. The direction switching section switches the direction of traveling of the sheet from the first direction to the second direction. In the two-sided printing, a first surface of a sheet fed through the first feeding section is printed by means of a first printing device, the direction of traveling of the printed sheet is switched and the sheet is turned over by means of the direction switching section, a second surface of the sheet is printed by means of a second printing device, and the sheet is ejected through the second ejection section. In the one-sided printing, one surface of a sheet fed through the first feeding section is printed by means of the first printing device, the direction of traveling of the printed sheet is switched by means of the direction switching section, and the sheet is ejected through the first ejection section. In parallel, the direction of traveling of a sheet fed through the second feeding section is switched by means of the direction switching section, one surface of the sheet is printed by means of the second printing device, and the printed sheet is ejected through the second ejection section.
