Abstract:
An ingredient for imparting a cooling sensation or stimulating a sense, the ingredient giving no undesirable senses of stimulation, bitterness, etc., and having excellent retentivity of refresh feeling and cool feeling; a composition for stimulating a sense, which contains the ingredient; and various products each containing the composition for stimulating a sense. Provided is an agent for imparting a cooling sensation, which contains 1-menthyl (3S)-3-hydroxybutanoate, which is represented by formula (I).
