Title:
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CELLULOSE SOLUTION, CELLULOSE SOLUTION, AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING REGENERATED CELLULOSE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/049485
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Cellulose is mixed with an ionic liquid represented by the formula (1). The resultant mixture is heated to dissolve the cellulose in the ionic liquid to produce a cellulose solution. By this process for cellulose solution production, cellulose can be dissolved in a relatively high concentration even when the water content is relatively high. Even when the dissolution is conducted with heating, the cellulose thus dissolved has suffered a relatively slight decrease in the degree of polymerization. (1) [In the formula, R1 to R3 may be the same or different and each represents C1-5 alkyl, C3-5 alkenyl, or alkoxyalkyl represented by R4-O-(CH2)n- (R4 represents methyl or ethyl); n is 1 or 2; and Y represents a halide ion, carboxylic acid ion having 1-3 carbon atoms in total, perchloric acid ion, or pseudohalide ion.]
