Abstract:
A process for producing (E)-1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (R-1233zd (E-isomer)) is provided by which high-purity R-1233zd (E-isomer) is highly selectively obtained in a simple manner.
The R-1233zd (E-isomer) production process comprises: purifying a first composition comprising 1,1-dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropane and 1,3-dichloro-1,3,3-trifloropropane to give a second composition in which the content of 1,3-dichloro-1,3,3-trifloropropane is 5 mol% or less with respect to the total amount of the 1,1-dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropane and the 1,3-dichloro-1,3,3-trifloropropane; and subsequently making the 1,1-dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropane contained in the second composition undergo a dehydrochlorination reaction to thereby obtain R-1233zd (E-isomer).
