Abstract:

A process for producing an emulsion and microcapsules whereby an emulsion and microcapsules can be conveniently and quickly produced. Toward a continuous phase (5) flowing through a microchannel (2), a dispersion phase (6) is supplied from a dispersion phase-supplying port (4) as intersecting the flow of the continuous phase (5). Thus, a microdroplet (7) having a diameter smaller than the width of a channel for supplying the dispersion phase (6) can be formed due to the shear force of the continuous phase (5).
