Abstract:

A process for producing an olefin polymer through olefin polymerization in the presence of a metallocene transition metal catalyst, while preventing polymer deposition on the reactor wall and preventing the generation of a sheet-form polymer, massive polymer, etc. to stably conduct the polymerization operation over long. The process is characterized by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of [A] a metallocene transition metal catalyst and [B] an organoaluminum compound represented by the general formula R?1¿¿n? Al(OR?2¿)¿3-n? (wherein R?1¿ represents C¿1-20? alkyl, aryl, hydrogen, or halogeno; R?2¿ represents C¿1-20? alkyl or aryl; and n is a number satisfying 0$m(F)n$m(f)3) under such conditions that the temperature of the polymerizer wall, tw (°C), and the polymerization temperature, tr (°C), satisfy the following relationship 1: 0.5 < tr-tw < 10.
