Abstract:

This invention provides a process for producing an organic luminescent device comprising an organic luminescent element comprising at least one carrier transport layer in which one of the carrier transport layers may be formed of not only a solid carrier transport material but also a liquid or semi-solid carrier transport material, and an organic luminescent device having a high level of characteristics produced by the production process of an organic luminescent device, and a highly reliable electronic equipment. The organic luminescent device (active matrix-type display device) comprises a plurality of organic luminescent elements (organic EL elements) comprising a cathode, an electron transport layer, a luminescent layer, a hole transport layer, and an anode. This organic luminescent device is produced by forming an anode on an upper substrate and forming a cathode, an electron transport layer and a luminescent layer on a TFT circuit substrate, each by a liquid phase film formation method or a gas phase film formation method, then joining the upper substrate and the TFT circuit substrate to each other so as to provide a space therebetween, and then pouring a hole transport material into the space to provide a hole transport layer to form an organic EL element.
