Abstract:
A process for producing prenyl alcohol characterized by comprising constructing a recombinant by transferring an expression recombinant DNA or a DNA fragment for genome integration, which contains hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase gene, isepentenyl diphosphate $g(D)-isomerase gene or farnesyl diphosphate synthase gene or a variant gene thereof together with a transcriptional promoter and a transcriptional terminator, into a host, culturing the resultant recombinant and then collecting prenyl alcohol from the culture medium thus obtained.
