Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for producing an intermediate for a cyclic carbodiimide compound. Specifically disclosed are: a process for producing an amine compound represented by formula (B), which involves a step of reducing a nitro compound represented by formula (A) and comprising a compound having a haloarene backbone in the presence of a metal catalyst and a basic compound; and a process for producing a thiourea compound, which involves a step of reacting an amine compound represented by formula (B) with carbon disulfide in the presence of an imidazole. (In formula (A), R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms.) (In formula (B), R is as defined in formula (A).)
