Abstract:
A process for the production of optically active 4-hydroxy -1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines
[I] which comprises treating a racemic mixture of a 4-hydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline
represented by the general formula [I] with an enzyme having the ability to acylate
one antipode of the racemic mixture selectively or preferentially in the presence
of an acyl donor and, if necessary, subjecting the obtained product to solvolysis:
[I] wherein R1 is hydrogen or an amino-protecting group.
