Abstract:
Provided are a processing device and a point group curtailment method with which it is possible to suppress a point group processing load even when the resolution of a device for acquiring a point group of an object is enhanced and the number of points constituting the point group increases. The processing device comprises a memory (storage device) and a processor. The memory stores data pertaining to the point group of the object. When the difference between the distance to a first point (previous point) that constitutes part of the point group and the distance to a second point (point of interest) that is adjacent to the first point and constitutes part of the point group is less than a threshold value (first threshold value Th1) (YES in step 1903), the processor curtails the data pertaining to the second point from the data pertaining to the point group (step 1908).
