Abstract:
Provided is a production method in which HCFC-244bb is inhibited from being formed as a by-product in a reaction step where HFO-1234yf is converted into HCFC-234bb, thereby efficiently obtaining HCFC-234bb. The method for HCFC-234bb production comprises irradiating a liquid mixture comprising HFO-1234yf, chlorine, and a solvent with light to obtain an HCFC-234bb-containing liquid mixture, wherein the liquid mixture which has undergone the light irradiation is made so as to have an HCFC-244bb content of 3,000 mol ppm or less. Use of the HCFC-234bb obtained by the production method makes it possible to inhibit by-product formation and efficiently produce HCFO-1224yd.
