Abstract:
A production method for a magnetic recording medium having a non-magnetic layer on a non-magnetic support, and a magnetic layer on the non-magnetic layer, the method comprising the steps of applying a non-magnetic layer-use coating onto a non-magnetic support and drying it to form a non-magnetic layer, then applying, onto the non-magnetic layer, a magnetic layer-use coating in excess of a target magnetic layer wet coating thickness by using a die nozzle coat, and scraping off the excessively applied magnetic layer-use coating down to the target magnetic layer wet coating thickness by a bar to form a magnetic coating.
