Abstract:
 Provided is a method for the high-yield production of highly pure γ, δ-unsaturated alcohols that requires the addition of significantly less formic acid and formic acid ester. Specifically provided is a method for producing γ, δ-unsaturated alcohols by reacting α-olefin and formaldehyde, the method having a step in which the reaction liquid obtained from the aforementioned reaction is brought into contact with an alkaline aqueous solution to obtain an aqueous solution, the pH of which is 9-13.
