Abstract:
This projection system comprises a plurality of projectors for performing edge-blending, wherein each of the plurality of projectors is provided with a video display element (1), a light-blocking plate (4) for reducing the amount of light in an edge-overlapping portion of a light bundle emitted from the video display element (1), and an aperture stop (5) for varying the amount of light travelling from the video display element (1) to an object to be projected onto. When a circle formed by the outermost periphery of a light-passing region obtained when the aperture stop (5) is opened completely is defined as a reference circle, the aperture stop (5) partially masks the inside of the reference circle so that, in a state in which the aperture stop is narrowed to make the area of the light-passing region inside the reference circle half the reference circle, the outline of the reference circle appears divided in three or more.
