A protection cover member according to the present invention is a member that is arranged on a surface of an object having the surface with an opening and prevents foreign matter from entering the opening. The protection cover member is constituted by a laminated body including a protection film having a shape that covers the opening when the cover member is arranged on the surface, a base material film that is bonded to the protection film, and a first adhesive layer that fixes the protection cover member to the surface. An outer peripheral surface of the protection cover member has a step in a laminated direction of the laminated body. A first portion of the protection cover member that is located on the side distant from the surface than the step when the protection cover member is arranged on the surface further protrudes to an outside than a second portion of the protection cover member that is located on the side closer to the surface than the step. The protection film and the base material film are positioned at the first portion. The protection cover member according to the present invention can be removed, while reducing damage to an object.
