Abstract:
It is intended to provide a method of immobilizing a protein on a solid phase characterized by comprising bringing the protein into contact with the solid phase having a hydrophobic surface in the coexistence of a lower alcohol with a halogenated carboxylic acid and/or a long-chain alkyl sulfuric acid salt; an immobilization reagent to be used therein; a method of quantifying a protein characterized by comprising bringing a solid phase having the protein immobilized thereon by the immobilization method as described above into contact with a protein-staining solution and quantifying the protein depending on the degree of coloration thus induced; and an immunoblotting method characterized by comprising using a solid phase having a protein immobilized thereon by the immobilization method as described above. It is also intended to provide a method of detecting abnormal PrP quickly and rapidly compared with the existing method; and a method of judging BSE.
