Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a proteoglycan more efficiently and with high purity, the proteoglycan being extracted from cartilage tissue, muscle tissue, or skin tissue of fish, mollusks, birds, or mammals. The method for producing a proteoglycan is characterized by involving a step for extracting proteoglycan using acetic acid solution from a biological sample containing the proteoglycan, wherein the convective velocity of the extract solution is controlled to be preferably 0.04-10.0 cm/sec such that the acetic acid solution is in fluid communication with the entire surface of said biological sample, and the temperature of the acetic acid solution being extracted is controlled to be 20-40°C.
