Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of mobile communications, and disclosed thereby are a PDU packet generation method and apparatus. The method comprises: acquiring a service data unit (SDU) packet; processing the SDU packet according to a preset data packet size; generating a data packet head and a data segment of the PDU packet according to a processing result, the data packet head and the data segment forming the PDU packet. In the data packet head, a segment indicating a framing indication (FI) field and a resegmentation flag (RF) field is omitted and a preset field is comprised, the preset field comprising: a field other than the FI field and the RF field which is redefined in a common data packet head, or a newly added target field, the field length of the newly added target field being less than the total length of the FI field and the RF field. The present invention solves the problem in related technology wherein overhead occupied by a data packet head of a generated PDU packet is large, and achieves the effect of being able to directly omit an FI field or to add a new, short-length target field while omitting the FI field, thereby reducing the length of the data packet head, and reducing overhead of the data packet head.
