Title:
QUANTUM ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY SYSTEM AND QUANTUM ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/117632
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A quantum absorption spectroscopy system (100) comprises a laser light source (1), a quantum optical system (201), a photodetector (31), and a controller (4). The laser light source (1) emits pump light. The quantum optical system (201): comprises a non-linear optical crystal (23) that, upon having pump light emitted thereon, generates quantum entangled photon pairs of signal photons and idler photons, and a moving mirror (25) that is capable of changing the phase of the idler photons; and is configured such that quantum interference occurs between the plurality of physical processes in which the quantum entangled photon pairs are generated. The photodetector (31) detects the signal photons when a sample is disposed on the optical path of the idler photons and the phase of the idler photons is changed by the non-linear optical crystal (23) and outputs a quantum interference signal corresponding to the detected number of photons. The controller (4) calculates an absorption spectrum characteristic for the sample by subjecting the quantum interference signal to a Fourier transform.
