Abstract:
Provided is a quantum random number generation device (10B) capable of generating a safer random number in consideration of at least one among the incompleteness of quantum bits and the incompleteness of a projection measuring instrument (2). In this device (10B), the functional configuration of a random number extractor (30) is different from a conventional random number extractor, and the probability distribution of expected measurement values is obtained from at least one among: information on a random number sequence (Z) for selecting the measurement base used in the measuring instrument (2); and information (PZ) on the incompleteness of the measuring instrument (2) that has performed measurement in advance, or information (PB) on the incompleteness of the quantum bit generator (1). Then, the estimated probability Pg (C|Z; E = e) is calculated by using the probability distribution of the expected measured values, and the measurement result (C) by the binary bit string output from the measuring instrument (2) is compressed to extract a safe random number by using the calculated estimated probability. As a result, it is possible to output a random number sequence (RI) relating to the generation of a safer random number whose randomness is quantum-mechanically guaranteed to an extent not achievable in the past.
