Abstract:
The present invention provides: a quenching device exhibiting an excellent flame propagation-suppressing effect and shock wave propagation-suppressing effect; and a hydrogen production device equipped with the quenching device. A quenching device (1) equipped with a flame propagation-suppressing unit (3) which has a porous section on a first pipe (10) side and/or a second pipe (22) side when seen from a pipe junction section (20), wherein a pressure reduction unit (2) for reducing the increased internal pressure is provided to the end section of a third pipe (23) which is not perpendicular to either the first pipe (10) or the second pipe (22).
