Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a radar device that allows for high-resolution angle estimation with simple equipment. This radar device is characterized by comprising: a transmission unit that generates a chirp wave using a transmission signal of which the frequency continuously increases or decreases and that transmits the chirp wave; a beat signal generation unit that generates a beat signal from the transmission signal and a reception signal obtained through each of receiving antennas receiving a reflected wave resulting from the chirp wave reflected by a target; a transform unit that transforms the beat signal into a frequency spectrum showing the distribution of signal intensity with respect to distance from the target and relative velocity; a peak detection unit that detects a peak signal from the frequency spectrum; a reception signal vector generation unit that generates a first reception signal vector from a signal of each receiving antenna corresponding to the peak signal; a first angle estimation unit that performs a first angle estimation process on the first reception signal vector to generate a first spatial spectrum showing the distribution of signal intensity with respect to arrival angle of the reflected wave; a subtraction processing unit that generates a replica signal assuming an arrival wave from an arrival angle of a first peak signal included in the first spatial spectrum generated by the first angle estimation unit and that subtracts the replica signal from the first reception signal vector to generate a second reception signal vector; a second angle estimation unit that performs a second angle estimation process on the second reception signal vector to generate a second spatial spectrum; and a target position estimation unit that selects which of the first spatial spectrum and the second spatial spectrum is used for target position estimation on the basis of the relationship between a set threshold value and the difference between the level of the first peak signal included in the first spatial spectrum and the level of a second peak signal included in the second spatial spectrum.
