WIPO Patent Application WO2006042725
Kind Code:

Abstract:
The invention relates to a plastic cover (1), for openings in vehicle chassis, in particular, for a radome transparent to electromagnetic radiation such as radar beams, comprising a body (3) made from transparent material with an outer surface, through which outer surface a colour contrasting pattern (5), for example, a pattern of a radiator grille or a company logo for a standard version of the cover of said opening is visible, which is applied to a back surface of the body (3) opposite the outer surface, whereby the back surface of the transparent body (3), formed by injection, is partly or completely back-injected with a plastic mass, leaving a gap for the surface provided for the pattern (5). A further plastic body (11) is fixed to the body (15) formed by the plastic mass, which covers the region of the pattern after the application thereof by injection of the plastic material forming said body. The invention further relates to a method for the simple and economical production of such a cover.
