Abstract:
An aluminum railway vehicle having installed therein an engine and an electricity generator, the railway vehicle being configured to be lightweight and have sufficient rigidity.
A foundation (17) is configured by arranging two beams (12, 12), which comprise aluminum alloy extrusions having an I-shape in a cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, along the longitudinal direction of an electric power source car (200), arranging three beams (14, 14, 14) along the width direction of the electric power source car (200), and welding the joints between the beams (12) and the beams (14). The lower surfaces of the beams (12) and of the beams (14) are affixed to a base frame (10) by welding. As a result of the integration of the base frame (10) and the foundation (17) by welding, the thickness of the base frame (10) and the height of the foundation (17) increase the bending rigidity and torsional rigidity. This results that, even if devices such as an engine (60) and a generator (70) having large masses are mounted, the bending vibration of the electric power source car (200) does not increase and high localized stress does not occur in the extrusions. Thus, a railway vehicle having high rigidity is provided.
