Abstract:

Disclosed in the embodiments of the present application are a random access method and a terminal device, the method comprising: a terminal device determining a backoff time for a random access event according to the priority of the random access event, the random access event with the first priority corresponding to a first backoff time range, the random access event with a second priority corresponding to a second backoff time range, the first priority being superior to the second priority, the first backoff time range not overlapping with the second backoff time range; after the backoff time lapses, the terminal device re-initiating a random access process.
