Abstract:
A rapid concentration apparatus and method for pathogenic microorganisms. The apparatus comprises an electrode, and a micro-channel for a sample to pass therethrough, wherein the micro-channel comprises a concentration channel (2) and a sample channel (1); a filtering element (6) is arranged between the concentration channel (2) and the sample channel (1); the electrode comprises a positive electrode (5) and a negative electrode (4); the positive electrode (5) comprises a plurality of sub positive electrodes; the plurality of sub positive electrodes are arranged at intervals in an array and arranged on a side close to the concentration channel (2); and the negative electrode (4) is arranged on a side close to the sample channel (1). During a concentration process, a fluctuation voltage greater than zero is applied to a single sub positive electrode, and the voltage of a sub positive electrode adjacent thereto alternates with the fluctuation voltage, so as to form a varying potential difference between the adjacent sub positive electrodes; and after a sample flows into the micro-channel, under the action of the electrodes, pathogenic microorganisms in the sample are regionalized and gathered on one side of the positive electrode (5) of the concentration channel (2), so as to form a concentrated sample. The concentration method comprises: a sample entering a micro-channel; under the action of a positive electrode (5) and a negative electrode (4), pathogenic microorganisms gradually shifting to one side of the positive electrode (5), and the pathogenic microorganisms passing through a filtering element (6) and entering a concentration channel (2); applying a fluctuation voltage greater than zero to a single sub positive electrode, and the voltage of a sub positive electrode adjacent thereto alternating with the fluctuation voltage, so as to form a varying potential difference between the adjacent sub positive electrodes; the pathogenic microorganisms moving in a reciprocating manner between the two adjacent sub positive electrodes and gradually gathering in the middle region between the two adjacent sub positive electrodes; and obtaining a concentrated sample at an outlet of the concentration channel.
