Abstract:
A rechargeable battery comprises: a battery can for housing a group of power-generating elements therein; and a battery lid that is provided with through holes, and that is for sealing an opening section of the battery can. First faces at one-ends of plus/minus pole connecting plates, each of which is composed of a single metal plate, are connected to uncoated sections of the group of power-generating elements. Second faces at the other-ends of the plus/minus pole connecting plates, and which are opposite the first faces, are faces onto which bus bars are to be welded, and the second faces are exposed outside through the through holes. Insulation base materials are made to intervene between the plus/minus pole connecting plates and the outer circumferences of the through holes, and the insulation base materials and the battery lid, and the insulation base materials and the plus/minus pole connecting plates are connected by brazing. In such a way, a rechargeable battery and a rechargeable battery module, wherein the connecting structure from current collecting sections of the group of power-generating elements to terminals thereof is simple, the number of parts and the number of assembling processes necessary for which is small, and which, as a result, have excellent productivity and reliability, is able to be provided.
