Abstract:
In the present invention, a recognition control unit 40 detects, on the basis of an image signal from a camera unit 20, a control signal from a camera control unit 30, or the like, the amount of light in an imaging area, and generates selection discrimination information on the basis of a detection result of the amount of light. A recognition processing unit 50 divides an image of the imaging area generated by the camera unit 20 into areas on the basis of the selection discrimination information generated by the recognition control unit 40 and selects a recognizer for each area. Furthermore, the recognition processing unit 50 performs subject recognition processing by using a selected recognizer on the image of the corresponding area. Even if a bright area and a dark area are included in a captured image, objects in each area can be easily recognized with high accuracy.
