Abstract:

Provided is an insertion type nozzle for continuous casting wherein durability is enhanced by arranging a layer of high functions, such as high corrosion resistance or high anti-adhesion, on an inner hole side. Especially, a refractory (mortar) for the intermediate layer of a nozzle for continuous casting wherein the push cracking of a layer on the outer circumferential side, caused by the difference in thermal expansion between a layer on the inner hole side and the layer on the outer circumferential side, i.e. a body material layer, is prevented, and such properties that the layer on the inner hole side can be fixed to the layer on the outer circumferential side (the body of a nozzle for continuous casting) at a predetermined position thereof are provided. Also provided is a nozzle for continuous casting using the refractory for the intermediate layer. The refractory for the intermediate layer contains 10-75 vol.% of hollow refractory aggregate satisfying a relation R/t≥10, where R is an average radius of particles and t is an average wall thickness of the particles. This refractory is arranged as an intermediate layer (1) between the layer (2) on the inner hole side and the layers (3, 4) on the outer circumferential side.
