Abstract:
The present invention provides a resistance welding method with which it is possible to prevent the occurrence of poor weld by forming a desired fusion part under an energizing condition under which a relatively low amount of heat is inputted. This resistance welding method for joining a first member (20) made of a non-ferrous metal and a second member (30) made of an iron-based metal comprises: a step for bringing a shaft (42) of an element (40) made of an iron-based metal into abutment with the first member (20) so as to lay the element (40), the first member (20), and the second member (30) on top of one another in the stated order; a step for pinching and applying pressure on the element (40), the first member (20), and the second member (30) by a pair of electrodes (50) and further applying pressure on the element (40) and/or the first member (20) by an external pressure application jig (60) disposed around the electrodes (50); and a step for, while maintaining the application of pressure by the pair of electrodes (50) and the external pressure application jig (60), melting the first member (20) by passing current between the pair of electrodes (50), causing the element (40) to penetrate the first member (20), and welding the element (40) and second member (30).
