Abstract:
A resolution assessment unit (20) of a resolution assessment device is provided with: an edge intensity calculation unit (12) which obtains the edge intensity of a plurality of pixels in an input image (VI) on the basis of the difference between the luminance of the plurality of pixels and the luminance of adjacent pixels; a coring processing unit (21) which, when the edge intensity is assessed to be a noise, brings the edge intensity closer to zero; an edge change point detection unit (22) which detects a pixel at which the signs of the adjacent edge intensities change; a first accumulation unit (23) which accumulates the detection results for the plurality of pixels; and a second accumulation unit (24) which, in accordance with externally obtained parameters, accumulates pixels having accumulation values exceeding the parameter value, for one frame. Whether or not the input image (VI) is an upconverted image is assessed on the basis of the accumulation result.
