Abstract:
Disclosed is a resource release method. A base station sends a first status indication or a second status indication to an RNC, the first status indication being used for indicating that a UE has released common enhanced-dedicated channel (common E-DCH) resources, and the second status indication being used for indicating that the UE needs to release the common enhanced-dedicated channel (common E-DCH) resources; and send a resource release instruction to the UE so as to cause the UE to release the common E-DCH resources. By means of the resource release method provided in embodiments of the present invention, downlink data loss caused by continuously scheduling downlink data from the UE by the RNC without knowing that the UE releases resources after the UE releases the resources is avoided; or, the RNC controls the UE to release resources, so that downlink data loss is avoided.
