Abstract:
The rotary compressor of an embodiment is provided with a container, a cylinder, closure plates, a roller, and a blade. The cylinder is accommodated within the container and has openings. The closure plates close the openings of the cylinder and form a cylinder chamber in cooperation with the cylinder. The blade is accommodated within a blade groove formed in the cylinder and can move into and out of the cylinder chamber as the roller eccentrically rotates. The blade has a base material and a coating. The coating has higher hardness than the base material and covers at least the groove facing surfaces of the outer surface of the base material, the groove facing surfaces being located outside closure plate facing surfaces which face the closure plates and facing the inner surfaces of the blade groove.
