Abstract:
According to an embodiment, this rotary electric machine is provided with: a stator; and a rotor (14) having a rotor core (24) and a plurality of permanent magnets (26), wherein the rotor core has a plurality of magnetic poles aligned in the circumferential direction, and the plurality of permanent magnets are embedded in the rotor core and respectively provided for the magnetic poles. The rotor core is formed to satisfy the relationship w2/w1 ≤ (A1+A2)/A1, wherein, in each magnetic pole: the q axis is an axis electrically orthogonal to a magnetic pole central axis d; A1 is the area of a region surrounded by the magnetic pole center axis, the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core, and first virtual lines L1 which extend on outer peripheral long sides (35b) of embedding holes (34) and intersect with the magnetic pole center axis and the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core; A2 is the area of a region surrounded by the magnetic pole center axis, the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core, second virtual lines L2 which extend on inner peripheral long sides (35b) of the embedding holes (34) and intersect with the magnetic pole center axis and the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core, and third virtual lines L3 which extends on first sides (30a) of void holes (30) and intersect with the magnetic pole center axis and the q axis; W1 is the half value width of a first bridge section B1; and W2 is the half value width of a second bridge section B2.
