Abstract:
Provided is a rotary electric machine comprising a stator core, a stator coil wound on the stator core, and a water passage forming member which is provided to cover a radial outside of the stator core and forms one or more water passages through which cooling water flows, wherein: the one or more water passages include a first water passage radially facing a first coil end axially protruding, in the stator coil, from one axial side of the stator core, and a second water passage extending further to the other side in the axial direction than the first water passage and radially facing a second coil end axially protruding, in the stator coil, from the other axial side of the stator core; and the flow speed of the cooling water in the first water passage is slower than the flow speed of the cooling water in the second water passage.
