Abstract:
The invention relates to a rotary feeder for conveying and comminuting bulk material, having a rotor which rotates in a housing drum and has a plurality of rotor protrusions. The housing drum has a feed opening at the top and a discharge opening at the bottom. At the front in the direction of rotation, the outer edge of each rotor protrusion is in the form of a cutting edge or is provided with a cutting edge which interacts with a counter-edge of the feed opening. The rotor is connected to a sprocket (27) so that it can be set into rotation by a chain. According to the invention, the rotor has precisely two mutually opposite rotor protrusions, and the sprocket (27) is oval, so that the force is translated during a cutting process and the speed is translated between the cutting processes. This effect can be increased if the chain for driving the sprocket (27) of the rotor leads to an additional sprocket (25) which has the same oval shape as the sprocket (27) of the rotor, but rotated by 90°.
