Abstract:
A rotary head (50) of a surface mounting machine (1) is provided with: a rotational body (60); an N-axis servo motor (35N) (a rotational drive unit) which rotationally drives the rotational body (60); a plurality of suction nozzles (56) (component holding members) which are attached to the rotational body (60) so as to be capable of movement in the direction of a rotational axis (61), are arranged on a virtual circle having the rotational axis (61) at the centre, and hold and release components (E1); and Z-axis drive devices (80) (holding member drive units) which are provided with Z-axis linear motors (35Z) (core-equipped opposing-type linear motors), and which use the Z-axis linear motors (35Z) to move, in the direction of the rotational axis (61), the suction nozzles (56) which have been moved into prescribed drive positions on the virtual circle.
