Abstract:
An inexpensive rotary press in which creasing of a web can be prevented surely
during a low speed operation. The rotary press (1) comprises a print section
(7) for printing on a web (17) being carried, an in-feed drag (21) provided on the
upstream side of the print section (7) and carrying the web (17) to the downstream
side by adjusting tension thereof, a cooling drag (39) provided on the downstream
side of the print section (7) and carrying the web (17) at a carrying speed not
lower than that of the in-feed drag (21), and a section (61) for controlling tension
of the web (17), wherein the tension control section (61) is provided with a tension
relax operation mode (TM) for making the difference of carrying speed between
the cooling drag (39) and the in-feed drag (21) smaller than that during a print
operation.
