Abstract:
In this vehicle alternator, a rear-side rib demarcating each rear-side exhaust opening has, at least at a site separated from the ends of a stator coil, a protrusion of which the cross-sectional shape is a three-sided shape when cut along a direction perpendicular to the central axial line of a shaft, and an apex oriented towards a cooling fan oriented to the reverse side of the rotational direction of the cooling fan, and so the amount of airflow of the cooling fan is increased and stator cooling performance is increased.
