Abstract:
A rotating tool according to an aspect has a holder and an insert. The holder has a pocket. The insert has an outer peripheral surface, a first surface, a second surface, and a cutting blade. The outer peripheral surface has a first side and a second side. The second side is positioned behind the first side in the rotating direction of an axis of rotation. The second surface is connected to the second side. The cutting blade is positioned on the first side. The pocket has a recessed part positioned to face the second surface. The recessed part has a bottom part, a first region, and a second region. The first region is positioned ahead of the bottom part in the rotating direction. The second region is positioned behind the bottom part in the rotating direction. The first region has a first portion that abuts on the second surface. The second region has a second portion that abuts on the second surface. The bottom part is separate from the second surface.
