Abstract:
A power supply control unit (56) supplies power intermittently to a sensor (32) and sets the drive interval for driving the sensor (32) to: a first time interval (x secs), if no change is detected in either the sine signal or cosine signal; a second time interval ((x – 2.2) secs) that is shorter than the first time interval, if a change is detected in only either the sine signal or the cosine signal; and third time interval ((x – 4.4) secs) that is shorter than the second time interval, if a change is detected in either the sine signal or the cosine signal and then a change is detected in the other signal.
