Abstract:
Provided is a rubber composition for tires which contains a large amount of silica and which exhibits excellent on-ice performance, wet grip performance and molding processing properties. This rubber composition for tires is characterized by: being obtained by blending 100 parts by mass of a diene-based rubber containing 25-50 mass% of a butadiene rubber with 50 parts by mass or more of a plasticizer component, 120-180 parts by mass of silica, M1 parts by mass of 3-octanoylthio-1-propyltriethoxysilane and M2 parts by mass of alkylsilane; and the total amount (M1+M2) of the 3-octanoylthio-1-propyltriethoxysilane and the alkylsilane being 5-10 mass% relative to the mass of the silica, and the ratio [M2/(M1+M2)] of the alkylsilane relative to the total amount of the 3-octanoylthio-1-propyltriethoxysilane and the alkylsilane being 0.10-0.40.
