Abstract:
Provided are: a rubber product which is inhibited from decreasing in production efficiency or shapability, by reducing the number of reinforcing layers stacked in the cylindrical part, while maintaining sufficient resistance to inner pressure; and a method for producing the rubber product. A plurality of reinforcing layers 5 are coaxially arranged between an inner layer 4 and an outer layer 10 to form a cylindrical shaped object 1A and this shaped object 1A is vulcanized to produce a rubber product having a cylindrical part 3a. The reinforcing layers 5 are each composed of: cord fabric 6 obtained by arranging a large number of fiber cords 7 in parallel and giving a given adhesion treatment thereto; and coating rubber layers 9 with which both surfaces of the cord fabric 6 are coated. The reinforcing layers 5 have a bias structure in which the fiber cords 7 of each reinforcing layer 5 extend so as to cross those of the adjoining reinforcing layer 5. The cord fabric 6 is one which has a tensile strength, along the fiber cord extension direction, of 4,320 N/cm or greater and a weight of 950 g/m2 or less and which, after the given adhesion treatment, has a bending rigidity of 30 g/cm or less. The coating rubber layers 9 each have a layer thickness of 0.2-1 mm.
