Abstract:

Provided is a saddle type vehicle in which it is possible to rapidly restrict the operation of a linkage mechanism when specified conditions are met, and makes it easier to reflect the intention of the rider. A saddle type vehicle (10) includes a linkage mechanism (36), a locking mechanism (80), a control unit (86), and an operating unit (104). The linkage mechanism (36) connects a pair of front wheels (14L, 14R) to a vehicle frame (12). The locking mechanism (80) puts the linkage mechanism (36) into a locked state by restricting the operation of the linkage mechanism (36), and releases the linkage mechanism (36) from the locked state by permitting the operation of the linkage mechanism (36). The operating unit (104) continuously outputs an operation signal (D6) to the control unit (86) while operations from the rider are being inputted. When the locking conditions for permitting the locking of the linkage mechanism (36) are met and while the operation signal (D6) is being inputted, the control unit (86) controls the locking mechanism (80) and puts the linkage mechanism (36) into a locked state.
